General Travel Information

From Oporto International Airport (Francisco Sá Carneiro) to Braga

  • By Taxi (1h.15 min) ca. €50 – €60. Please, always check the price with the taxi driver.
  • Get Bus service – There is a direct bus service (‘Getbus’ around  10 €) from the airport to Braga and back, running every 2-3 hours. It arrives to the Central Bus Station in Braga, next to Ibis Hotel (5 min. walking) and the city center (10 min walking).  We recommend to take a taxi if you go Hotel Meliá or Hotel Lamaçaes (next to INL). http://getbus.eu/
  • to Porto Central Train Station take a taxi or subway.

From Porto or Lisbon to Braga

By Train from Porto central to Braga

It is also possible to travel from Porto to Braga by train from the centrally located Sao Bento station. To reach Braga by train, take the subway to Sao Bento, from where there are regular daily departures. As Braga is located on Portugal’s rail network, it can also be accessed from Lisbon and other stations across Portugal, as well as from over the border in Spain, for instance from nearby Vigo as well as further afield. From LISBON Airport: take a taxi (about 10 €) or the Red line of “Metro de Lisboa” to the train station “Oriente”.

By Car within Portugal:

For those looking for information on how to get to Braga by car, it couldn’t be simpler. Take the main A3 (also known as the E1 or IP1), which runs from north Portugal  to south. Coming from the south, the road will take you via Porto, and coming from the north, it approaches via the nearby Spanish border. Simply take the A11 exit eastbound and the road will lead you conveniently into the centre of the city.
